500 sites, deployed by general installers.
An advisor brought us a PE-owned financial services company running five separate check-cashing brands across roughly 500 locations. The stores can't take a transaction offline, so they wanted failover — and they wanted the wireless connection load-balanced into their SD-WAN rather than sitting idle waiting for an outage.
The harder constraint was the rollout. Five hundred sites were being deployed by general installers, not network engineers. Anything that required a configuration step in the field was going to fail somewhere across 500 addresses.
So the configuration happened here. Every device shipped staged and tested, ready to work the moment it was powered on.
The installer's entire job was to plug it in.
